The First Joint Application and Research Center Has Been Established
The first joint research centers on 3 strategic fields which are "Geothermal Advanced Greenhouse Technologies", "Digital Technologies on the Livestock Industry" and "Digital Technologies on Food Supply Security" have been established in order to combine the forces of the universities with the initiation of the Council of Higher Education. These new research centers were published on the official web page of the Council of Higher Education. It is planned to enable the universities to combine their power, knowledge, and experiences to make a joint research thanks to these centers. One of these centers "Geothermal Advanced Greenhouse Technologies and Production Techniques joint Application and Research Center" has started its works under the coordination of our university, and with the cooperation of Ankara and Selçuk Universities.
Greenhousing will be Practiced with the Help of Scientific and Technological Developments
National food supply capacity will be tried to be increased by making use of scientific and technological developments and advanced techniques in the field of greenhousing which is set as a priority within the scope of national goals and policies at the "Geothermal Advanced Greenhouse Technologies and Production Techniques Joint Application and Research Center" under the coordination of our university, and with the cooperation of Ankara and Selçuk Universities.
Rector Karakaya: “We will transform our regional mission into yield”
The Rector of our university Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya expressed his opinions on this task given by the Council of Higher Education and the new research center. He stated that the recent developments have made them quite pleased and thanked to the Chair of the Council of Higher Education Prof. Dr. Yekta Saraç and the members of the Council of Higher Education for their supports. He also said that they are aware of their regional mission and they continue their works to transform it into yield. He continued his words as follows: "With the center established within the framework of the Eleventh Development Plan, we try to meet the needs of our nation in line with the basic values. We will fulfill this task assigned by the Council of Higher Education to Kırşehir Ahi Evran University in the best way, with the opportunities offered by our city and the regional mission. Because we continue our way in order to use the information we produce for the benefit of our nation. With this center, we will increase efficiency and develop greenhouse cultivation by applying new techniques.”
Rector Karakaya: “During The Pandemic Period, We Have Observed That The Safety And Supply Of Agricultural Foods Are Even More Important ”
The Rector of our university, Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya stated that this new epidemic that emerged in the last days of 2019 has become a global health problem with fatal consequences and the biggest problem seen in this period was food security and food supply. Rector Karakaya said the fact that food became a national security issue brought about the development of new safety approaches on the health of societies at a time when countries were competing in different areas. Rector Karakaya stressed that in the century we live in, the human population is increasing gradually, and that nutrition, which is the basic need for the sustainability of healthy life, emerges as a global problem, and that they plan to establish such a joint center in order to ensure the supply and safety of agricultural foods, which constitute the most important link in the food chain, and to contribute to the agricultural economy.
