Kırşehir Ahi Evran University continues to make contribution to the development of Kırşehir. Importance of geothermal resource that would contribute to Kırşehir becoming a health tourism pioneer was emphasized once more at 11th Lokman Hekim History of Medicine and Folkloric Medicine Days Congress. Assist. Prof. Mehmet Karataş who is a member of İnönü University talked about the features of the geothermal resource and the contributions it would present to health tourism. He said that there are many geothermal resources in Kırşehir and its counties and Terme, Karakurt, Mahmutlu, Kaman Savcılı and Avcı thermal springs are important for Kırşehir. He additionally mentioned about Terme thermal spring is one of the most crucial geothermal resources and is used in different fields like thermal tourism, greenhousing and heating of the city. The water is potable and can be used in the treatment of diseases like rheumatism, vessel stiffness, rehabilitation of strokes, fatigue and tiredness, illnesses caused by gout, illnesses of the liver, gall bladder, stomach, intestine, renal calculus, hypertension, chronic bronchitis and upper respiratory infections.
